Day 8 --OCT. 12 --Sunday
Morning motor coach from Cusco
through the Sacred Valley of the
Incas to the Pisaq Market,
a regional market,
where the Quechua Indians gather
to sell and trade their
hand-made products and produce.
Alpaca sweaters, ponchos, rugs,
ceremonial artifacts, pottery
and jewelry are real bargains.
At the southern end of the Sacred Valley,
Pisac's ruins form an enormous condor
on the mountainside.
Lunch @ El Maizal (Outdoor buffet)
On to Ollantaytambo,
House of the Dawn/Wind,
one of the most powerful astronomical complexes,
is built at electromagnetic convergence points.
At the northern end of the Sacred Valley,
Ollantaytambo has a special spirit about it.
The legend goes that a white bearded God,
Wiracocha,
entered the town and blessed the people.
They so honored him, that they carved
his face in the mountainside,
where you can see it today.
Purification and cleansing at the
multidimensional sacred fountains
and ceremony at the Temple of the Condor
to ask for permission,
protection and guidance as we enter the
"Hanaq Pacha" (upper world).
The Condor or "Apu Kuntur"
was considered a very special divinity
that connects the
"Hanaq Pacha" ( upper world )
with the "Kay Pacha" (middle world).
Late afternoon arrival in Yucay
for an overnight stay at the most
paradisiacal lodging in the Sacred Valley.
(BB & L) Overnight Posada del Inka, Yucay
Machu Picchu.
Day 9 --- OCT.13 --- Monday
After breakfast we begin our
“pilgrimage”
to the holy city of Machu Picchu.
We transfer to Ollanta Station,
board the train for a ride
through the sacred mountains,
following the route of the
Vilcanota-Urubaba River
to the town below Machu Picchu,
Aguas Calientes.
We check in our hotel and embark on 20 min.
Bus ride up to Machu Picchu.
The summit of
"Machu Picchu" (Old Mountain),
overlooks the deep canyon of the
Urubamba river in a semi-tropical area
at 7,000 feet above sea level.
The complex covers approximately 5 square kms.,
sits on a mountain site of extraordinary beauty,
in the middle of a tropical mountain forest.
Machu Picchu's unusual patterns are best
viewed from the sky.
Its celestial observatory depicts many patterns
found on petroglyphs throughout the world.
Machu Picchu is an amazing creation,
with its giant walls,
terraces and ramps,
which appear as though they have been cut
naturally in the continuous rock escarpments.
Rediscovered in 1911 by the American Yale
professor Hiram Bingham,
it is thought to have been a sanctuary
or temple inhabited by high priests and the
"Virgins of the Sun" (chosen women).
Excavations revealed that of the 135 skeletons
found,109 were women.
You're finally here among the sacred
Apus (Mountain Spirits)
and the clouds on top of the world.
The ancient energies of transformation
welcome you,
as you let go of your worldly concerns.
The most surprising discovery at the
abandoned ruins of Machu Picchu is that
it is not dead at all.
Machu Picchu is a living "Initiation Center".
The power points and energy sites are still
very much alive and accessible.
We have a wonderful outdoor buffet lunch
at the base of the ruins and embark on
a guided archeo~spiritual tour of the
entire temple complex with time to
meditate and align ourselves with energies
and ley lines of this
Holy Consecrated Ancestral Space.
