ABOUT
YOUR GUIDE:
SUSAN GRIFFIN: You
will be guided in this experience by Susan Griffin, who will be your facilitator
of ceremony, sharing her love and knowledge of Peruvian shamanic techniques.
Susan has traveled numerous times to Peru and Bolivia since 1995 and has
apprenticed with Peruvian born Shamanic teacher/healer, Don Oscar Miro-Quesada,
who is considered a leading authority on the contemporary wisdom teachings and
healing practices of South America. Susan first learned about the
sacred connection of all life from her Native American Cherokee Grandmother
while growing up in the shadow of Stone Mountain, Georgia. She has been a
Shamanic practitioner since 1968 and has apprenticed with North, South and
Central American Wisdom Keepers. She is a spiritual
guide/facilitator to Sedona, Az., Peru, Bolivia, and Mexico, as well as a
clairvoyant healer/teacher, who has had a variety of life experiences that have
given her a perspective of life and its challenges that is truly well rounded.
She shares her experiences from the heart without judgment, so that others may
be assisted in their own growth. Susan has been in practice in Atlanta,
Georgia since 1984, and has also worked in Miami Beach, Florida as a spiritual
counselor, visionary and Production Manager for SAGE (Society for Advancement of
Global Evolution), which ultimately led her to Arizona in 1996. Her
knowledge of American Native spiritual practices, as well as a Southern Baptist
background allow her to share her knowledge in a unique ethno-spiritual program. She is always thrilled to share her understanding and her love of the ancient
past with those in the present, to help people empower themselves and celebrate
life.
We will be assisted by
Rainbow
Moon Raven,
one of Sedona's most gifted "Medicine" healers and message
therapist. Raven uses her knowledge of Herbs, Natural Remedies, Ancient
Techniques, as well as Body, Mind, Heart, and, Spirit Modern Techniques, to help
people to heal their Spirit, their lives, and their bodies. Her
experiences with the Earth Energies and Nature Spirits led her to use her
techniques and intuitive capability to
facilitate many healings using the Sacred Site Earth Energies of Sedona. Her

Discover the path of balance, inner harmony, and connectedness through the ways of Pachamama
(Earth Energies)
and Native South American Wisdom.
There comes a place in a person's journey, when a person comes to the understanding, that in the pure form of the sacredness of all that moves and breathes, that even the smallest, simplest thought, action, or gesture has a significance that previously had not been seen or understood. To those that have chosen to live in such a moment of sacredness the importance of remembering the significance of each moment and action becomes even more acknowledged. It is the scared art of being. Our hearts are seeking new understanding and connection; our minds are evolving toward higher enlightenment. Great power lies in the wisdom and understanding of one's role in the Great Mystery, and in honoring every living thing as a teacher. This is a kind of power that comes from the idea of unity and of each being having within itself a part of all other beings. It is the law of oneness. It is the teachings of these ancient truths that has brought native people to understanding, and it is these same truths that may open doors for you. By physically being in the energies of the sacred Apus (Andean Mountain Spirits), and Temples of Stones, who are the ancient ones that hold the history of all time, it is possible for each of us to awaken and remember our connectedness to the ALL that IS. The Inca prophecies say that now, in this age, when the eagle of the North and the condor of the South fly together, the Earth will awaken. This is the turning point in human history that requires a personal and global transformation that can only take place if we are willing to learn from the past. The Native South American people of Heart Island are a living tradition that helps us remember our ability to live in interdependent harmony with all of life upon our Mother Earth and beyond into the stars.

Rather than just learning when these sites were built, we will discover the mind and purpose of the builders. Our in-country, Peruvian guides are spiritual minded experts, who will share their knowledge of the history and legends of the Incas. Spirit World Tours has been leading groups to Peru and Bolivia since 1998, with the permission of Don Oscar Miro-Quesada.

- PACHACAMAC - ICA
Day 2 --- OCT. 6 ---Monday
We begin our journey by motor coach excursion south from Lima along the Pan American Highway to ancient pre-Inca “Oracle“ of Pachacamac. Pachacamac is one of the largest and most important ceremonial centers, overlooking the coastal desert of central Peru. Pilgrims came from many miles away to consult the Oracle, one of the four major oracles that existed within the Inca territory. At this ancestral sacred site we will meditate upon our intentions for our journey with a ceremony of gratitude and ask for direction and clarity from the Oracle Spirit of Place. Lunch and on to Ica. ICA, located between Paracas and Nazca, is a lush agricultural oasis surrounded by desert sands. The narrow desert fringe that stretches for more than 1,400 miles along Peru's Pacific Coast, has been called the driest desert on earth. Small oasis have formed where rivers, descending from the slopes of the Andes cross the desert. Here, people have lived for thousands of years. Desert and sea, dry golden dunes, crystal clear waters, mysterious and enigmatic markings; all this is Ica, an oasis of contrasts and contradictory landscapes, with myths and legends which relate the rise and fall of peoples who persevered against the hostility of the desert to construct their towns and civilization. Ica, land of cotton, wine and pisco, a liquor with an aromatic, grape bouquet, is full of history. Ancient Peruvians of the area wove splendid robes of varied colors; mummified their dead with singular skill; and drew lines and gigantic figures in the desert as a homage to the Sun, the Moon, the Earth and the Stars. (BB, Lunch) Overnight LAS DUNAS HOTEL, ICA
ICA
- NAZCA LINES - PARACAS
Day 3---OCT. 7--- Tuesday
Some 2,500 years ago, Nazca was the seat of a pre-Inca civilization highly advanced in both astronomy and ceramic art. Today enormous geoglyph figures of animals, birds and geometric figures remain etched in the desert, a testimony to this remarkable culture. The line drawings can only be seen and appreciated from the air. This morning we will fly over the Nazca Lines, stretching across the Nazca plains, like a giant map or blueprint left by ancient astronauts. The Nazca Lines were first spotted when commercial airlines began flying across the Peruvian desert in the 1930's. Passengers reported seeing 'primitive landing strips' on the ground below. Author Eric Von Daniken hypothesized that, in remote times, ancient astronauts visited the earth; and the giant figures on the Nazca plain were meant as signals for the space travelers, as they touched down on 37-mile long airfield. The Nazca Lines are known for 13 gigantic animal figure constellations, countless mathematically precise geometric patterns, spirals, and 144 flat surface landing strips. The entire area was made up of huge iron ore deposits that concentrated magnetic energy, creating an electromagnetic field of extraordinary strength. As we fly over the energies of the Nazca Lines, one can feel the connection that these ancient people had with extraterrestrial sources of guidance, and the energies can awaken the remembrance of that connection in us as well.
After lunch we will visit the museum of the Ica Stones . The collection of approximately 15,000 stones are the ancient carved gliptolithic rock-library known as the Ica Stones. In the 1960's a farmer found piles and piles of rocks deep in various gorges and caves not far from the Nazca Lines. The etchings reveals a lighter color than the original dark varnish of age, yet the etched grooves also bear traces of this varnish, indicating that the carving was done in ancient times. They are a form of andesite, a gray to black volcanic rock, and a very hard mineral that would make etching quite difficult with primitive tools, a local river rock, covered with a patina of natural oxidation. Laboratories in Germany have authenticated the incisions that make up the carvings as extremely ancient. Dr. Cabrera's library is organized by subject matter including the races of man, ancient animals, lost continents, and the knowledge of a global catastrophe. We depart for coastal Paracas and check in to our beautiful beach resort hotel. This small coastal town was an important trade center of the Paracas culture that flourished over 3,000 years ago. From around 1300 BC to 200 AD the Paracas culture dominated the barren desert, south of Lima. These people are considered to have produced the finest textiles known in the pre-Colombian period.
Evening group Star/UFO gazing and sacred hoop circle to share our Nazca experiences.
(BB, Lunch) Overnight PARACAS HOTEL
BALLESTAS ISLANDS - PARACAS CANDELABRO - LIMA
Day 4---OCT. 8 ---Wednesday Paracas National Reserve, the only protected maritime area in Peru is a refuge for a variety of water animal species, such as sea lions, penguins, whales, dolphins and hundreds of resident and migratory seabirds. The islands cliffs eroded into numerous arches and caves, which provide shelter for thousands of seabirds and sea mammals. Early morning motor boat excursion to Ballestas Islands, also known as the "Little Galapagos", to observe sea lions, boobies, pelicans, penguins and other marine birds, and we will see one of the largest pink flamingo nesting ground in the world. On the boat trip over to the islands, the famous "Candelabro" can be seen, an candelabra-shaped drawing scratched on to the highest point of a cliff side overlooking the bay. Many people believe it is related to the Nazca lines, while others think it is a representation of the Southern Cross constellation, or a stylized drawing of a cactus that was a symbol of power from the Chavin culture. On our way back to Lima we will visit to the Chauchilla cemetery, where bones of, mummies and pottery shards litter the desert.
(BB) Overnight El Pardo Hotel, Miraflores, Lima
LIMA - CUSCO
Day 5---OCT. 9--- Thursday
Transfer to Airport: Flight Lima to Cusco. Cusco “The Navel of the World”, was built out of stone and adorned with gold. Originally, it was a ceremonial center featuring a number of stone rectangular buildings laid out as to be the convergence point of ley lines connected to numerous power spots. Cusco is actually the oldest living city in the American Continent, with a continuous settlement of more than 3,000 years. It is a "living museum". It was the capital of the Inca Empire, the area of present-day Peru, Bolivia, northern Argentina, Chile, and Ecuador, north to south some 2,500 miles. At the height of its existence the Inca Empire was the largest nation on Earth and remains the largest native state to have existed in the western hemisphere. The wealth and sophistication of the legendary Inca people lured many anthropologists and archaeologists to the Andean nations in a quest to understand the Inca's advanced ways. The Incas ruled the Andean Range, second in height and harshness to the Himalayas. Daily life was spent at altitudes up to 15,000 feet and ritual life extended up to 22,057 feet to Llullaillaco in Chile. Our early morning flight takes us over the majestic Andes! As we fly into the valley the towering Apus (sacred mountains) with their shimmering caps of snow greet us and welcome us to the sacred land of the Inca. Transfer to hotel, upon check-in you will be furnished with Coca Tea (Mate de coca) Please drink to help with acclimatization to the 1200 ft. altitude we also suggest you eat lightly, walk slowly, and rest. Afternoon and evening free to acclimate to the change of altitude.
(BB) Overnight Don Carlos Hotel, Cusco
CUSCO - Sacsayhuaman - Lacco Cave
Day 6---OCT. 10--- Friday (Full Moon)
Morning tour of Sacsayhuaman: Sacsayhuaman is one of the most imposing architectonic complexes and considered one of the best monuments that mankind has built. Three parallel walls built in different levels with stones of enormous sizes; zigzagging walls, because of their appearance, one opinion is they represent the "teeth" of the puma's head, as Cusco is built in the shape of a Puma. The boulders used for the first or lower levels are the biggest; there is one that is 28 ft. high and weights about 361 tons. Those boulders classify the walls as being of cyclopean or megalithic architecture. The three walls represent the three levels of the Andean Religious World: beginning from the bottom, Uju Pacha (underground lower world), the Kay Pacha (earth's surface stage) in the middle, and the Hanaq Pacha (sky, upper world) on the top. The levels are also identified with their three sacred animals: the Amaru or (snake), the Puma (Cougar or Mountain Lion), and the Kuntur (Andean condor). Because of the zigzagging shape of the walls, it may be also suggested that they represent Illapa, (spirit of thunder, lightning and thunderbolt).
In the heart of Sacsayhaman you reach an energy vortex, Muyuc Marka, where the Inca performed special rituals to create a connection with the cosmic world. Muyuc Marka, Medicine Wheel of Sacsayhaman is where one is "recharged" with "positive energy" and connected energetically and spiritually to Earth Mothers ley lines. It is also a solar clock and a phonic space that produces different echoes.
Afternoon free to rest or shop and explore this wonderful sacred city. Dinner on your own, then we will be led in ceremony by Inkari Pachatusan (a mystical brotherhood of Andean musicians shaman/priests of Incan lineage) inside Lacco Cave (The Temple of the Moon). This observatory has, serpents and birds carved into the rock and were ceremonial centers of initiation, healing and rebirthing.
(BB, BL) Overnight Don Carlos, Cusco
CUSCO - Koricancha - Tambomachay - Qenko
Day 7---OCT. 11 --- Saturday
Morning city tour of the Koricancha, House of Light. The Temple of the Sun was the holiest of holy to the Incas as it housed the great Sun Disk, brought to Cusco, “The Navel of the World”, from MU. The rooms were adorned with elaborate gold ceremonial objects including the huge Sun Disk reflecting the sun light to illuminate all. The walls were covered in gold, and windows were constructed, so the sun would cast a near-blinding reflection of golden light off the precious metals. This site was a ceremonial center featuring a number of stone rectangular buildings laid out as to be the convergence point of ley lines connected to numerous "huacas" or power spots. The carved stone walls fit so perfectly that a sheet of paper can not slide between them. There is no mortar. These walls of the Temple of the Sun are the finest example of Inca stonework in existence.
The Cathedral.- The church is located in the northeast side of the Plaza de Armas, built in 1550 and built with many of the stones from the Temple of the Sun. It contains over four hundred XII century paintings done by the members of the renowned Cuzco School. The Lord of the Earthquakes altar weights over 52 pounds and is made of solid gold and studded with precious stones. The main altar is covered with sheets of silver. We then ride 7 miles into the country side above Cusco to Tambomachay and Qenko. Tambomachay, Unu, (Water Spirit) Temple was popularly known as the "Inca's Baths", where four underground rivers come together. It was here that those wishing to enter the capitol of the Incan empire cleansed themselves. It is an archaeological complex made up of well-crafted canals, walls and windows which show the Incas' extraordinary architectural talents and their in-depth knowledge of hydraulics. Tambomachay was an important religious center for the Spirit of water. The canals channel the water, ending at a slope from which crystal clear water flows in three levels, representing the 3 worlds. We will honor the Spirit of water with an offering and ask the sacred waters for purification and clarity. Qenko, Labyrinth, has many aspects; astronomical and ceremonial. It possesses an amphitheater with 19 niches, and there is an entrance in the form of a labyrinth which leads to the underground temples. There are statues in the upper part where rituals took place, although many of the carved sacred stones were distorted by the Spanish, the magic and energies were untouched. We will align with the sacred ley lines of the sites by honoring the ancient ones who came before us as we walk through this powerful healing, initiation, and astronomical complex. Late afternoon return to our hotel, and evening free.
(BB & BL) Overnight Don Carlos, Cusco
CUSCO - PISAQ - OLLANTAYTAMBO
Day 8 ---OCT. 12--- Sunday
Morning motor coach from Cusco through the Sacred Valley of the Incas to the Pisaq Market, a regional market, where the Quechua Indians gather to sell and trade their hand-made products and produce. Alpaca sweaters, ponchos, rugs, ceremonial artifacts, pottery and jewelry are real bargains. At the southern end of the Sacred Valley, Pisac's ruins form an enormous condor on the mountainside. Lunch @ El Maizal (Outdoor buffet) On to Ollantaytambo, House of the Dawn/Wind, one of the most powerful astronomical complexes, is built at electromagnetic convergence points. At the northern end of the Sacred Valley, Ollantaytambo has a special spirit about it. The legend goes that a white bearded God, Wiracocha, entered the town and blessed the people. They so honored him, that they carved his face in the mountainside, where you can see it today. Purification and cleansing at the multidimensional sacred fountains and ceremony at the Temple of the Condor to ask for permission, protection and guidance as we enter the "Hanaq Pacha" (upper world). The Condor or "Apu Kuntur" was considered a very special divinity that connects the "Hanaq Pacha" ( upper world ) with the "Kay Pacha" (middle world). Late afternoon arrival in Yucay for an overnight stay at the most paradisiacal lodging in the Sacred Valley. (BB & L) Overnight Posada del Inka, Yucay
MACHU PICCHU
Day 9 ---OCT. 13--- Monday
After breakfast we begin our “pilgrimage” to the holy city of Machu Picchu. We transfer to Ollanta Station, board the train for a ride through the sacred mountains, following the route of the Vilcanota-Urubaba River to the town below Machu Picchu, Aguas Calientes. We check in our hotel and embark on 20 min. bus ride up to Machu Picchu. The summit of "Machu Picchu" (Old Mountain), overlooks the deep canyon of the Urubamba river in a semi-tropical area at 7,000 feet above sea level. The complex covers approximately 5 square kms., sits on a mountain site of extraordinary beauty, in the middle of a tropical mountain forest. Machu Picchu's unusual patterns are best viewed from the sky. Its celestial observatory depicts many patterns found on petroglyphs throughout the world. Machu Picchu is an amazing creation, with its giant walls, terraces and ramps, which appear as though they have been cut naturally in the continuous rock escarpments. Rediscovered in 1911 by the American Yale professor Hiram Bingham, it is thought to have been a sanctuary or temple inhabited by high priests and the "Virgins of the Sun" (chosen women). Excavations revealed that of the 135 skeletons found,109 were women. You're finally here among the sacred Apus (Mountain Spirits) and the clouds on top of the world. The ancient energies of transformation welcome you, as you let go of your worldly concerns. The most surprising discovery at the abandoned ruins of Machu Picchu is that it is not dead at all. Machu Picchu is a living initiation center. The power points and energy sites are still very much alive and accessible. We have a wonderful outdoor buffet lunch at the base of the ruins and embark on a guided archeospiritual tour of the entire temple complex with time to meditate and align ourselves with energies and ley lines of this holy consecrated ancestrial space.
(BB & L) Overnight Machu Picchu El Pueblo Hotel

MACHU PICCHU - MORAY- CUSCO
Day 12 ---OCT. 16--- Thursday
Morning train to Ollantaytambo, where we will transfer to motorcoach and drive to Maras Salt mines. The Salt Mines are about 3000 small pools in a slope of the "Qaqawiñay" mountain. First formed several hundred years ago and still in use today, the shallow ponds were designed to create salt by evaporation. On to Moray Ruins. Moray is off the beaten path. It consists of a set of several sunken terraces, many of them circular, all patterned around a central courtyard. It is said to be the Mother Earth Temple , an intra-dimensional city no longer inhabited, that has been used by the Masters for ascension acceleration for thousands of years. A magnetic vortex along with an intra-dimensional vortex, this is a perfect place to reflect upon our experiences in Machu Picchu. We will make offerings and prayers of gratitude for our Mother Earth. We continue on thru the Sacred Valley returning to Cusco.

We will learn the historical development of the ancient sites--their civilizations, and their beliefs--exploring the underlying consciousness that inspired their creation. Rather than just learning when these sites were built, we will discover the mind and purpose of the builders. Our in-country, Peruvian guides are spiritual minded experts, who will share their knowledge of the history and legends of the Incas.
